Started off as a social media group, this association of farmers grew into a company within no time. The stakeholders of this organisation are none other than the farmers from Kerala who undertake farming mainly in states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka.

Overview
National Farmer Producer Organization is a farmer’s collective registered under Societies Act in 2021 in Kerala. Started off as a social media group, this association of farmers grew into a company within no time. The stakeholders of this organization are none other than the farmers from Kerala who undertake farming mainly in states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka. Our farmers migrated to these states especially Karnataka in search of fertile land and availability of labor. Interestingly, most of the farmers grow short term crops like Ginger, Banana and Vegetables as it will help them regain the expenses within a short time period. In fact, these crops are grown on leased land. With strength of more than 1000 people, this farmer’s collective farms more than 50,000 acres of land in Karnataka alone. They produce more than 15 lakh metric ton of ginger and approximately 5 lakh metric ton of banana every year on an average.
NFPO Farmers Producer Company Limited is an unlisted private company incorporated on 22 March, 2022. It is classified as a private limited company and is located in Kerala. It’s authorized share capital is INR 200.00lac and the total paid-up capital is INR 100.00 lac.

Who can join our company?
Specifically the primary producers. Membership is voluntary. Membership depends on the bye-laws of the PO. All members enjoy equal rights.
How much benefit will it be for me to join?
The FPO is a collective of farmers who are the primary producers of a product (an agricultural produce or a manufactured product). It, therefore, can work as a platform to facilitate better access to government services, like PDS, MNREGA, Scholarships and Pensions, etc. It can liaison with the Government Departments for convergence of program, like drinking water, sanitation, health and hygiene.
