About National Farmer Producer Organisation [NFPO]

National Farmer Producer Organization is a farmer’s collective registered under Societies act (1860). This organization was started as a social media group, this association of farmers considered to be the foundation for the NFPO Farmers Producer Company Ltd and NFPO Trading LLP. The main activities of the Producer Company are basically servicing farmers by providing all supportive for cultivation. The LLP is concentrating on the manufacturing units for producing Bio/Organic manure and other organic growth stimulants. Apart from this the organization formulated a separate charity wing “Kanneeroppam Kaikorkkam” to handhold the farmers under distress. This organization is periodically conducting personality development, motivational, health related training programs for all members. A mediation team has been formed for receiving legal experts and  working to resolves the issues or disputes arising.

It allows farmer members to negotiate as a group and help small farmers in both output and input markets.

Can provide quality and low-cost inputs to member farmers such as the purchase of machinery,  input agri-inputs (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) and direct marketing after agricultural produce procurement. It will enable members to save time, distress sales, transaction costs, price fluctuations, quality maintenance, transportation, etc.

Vision

To build a prosperous and sustainable agriculture sector by promoting and supporting member-owned Producer Organizations, that enable farmers to enhance productivity through efficient, cost-effective and sustainable resource use and realize higher returns for their produce, through collective action supported by the government, and fruitful collaboration with academia, research agencies, civil society and the private sector.

Ensure better income for the producers through an organization of their own. It will enhance food, reduce social conflicts and nutritional values in the community.

Mission

  • To be positioned as a hub for agriculture processing and investment destination for food processing sectors
  • To have the mandate for production, aggregation, storage, processing, marketing and export of agricultural produce.
  • To be a legal entity which consists of only the practicing farmer?
  • To be the most appropriate institutional form around which the Government can mobilize farmers for capacity building in production as well as marketing of surplus of sizeable lot. The organizations can be created at cluster, Panchayath, block, district or state levels depending upon the needs of the producers for economic growth and social benefits.

Objectives

To have the mandate for production, aggregation, storage, processing and marketing ,exporting of agricultural produce in addition to engage in activities beneficial to their members and farming community.

Ensuring access to and usage of quality inputs and services for intensive agriculture production and enhancing cluster competitiveness is essential. Planning and implementation of crop/ product specific clusters/cropping system based enterprises will be encouraged. Strengthening farmer capacity through bench marking agricultural best practices for enhanced productivity is another objective.

Maximizing direct and indirect employment generation through the establishment of marketing outlets, creation of necessary infrastructure facilities for grading, sorting, warehousing, cold storage, transportation etc.
